          Version 2.7.0

In this release we introduce a Basic/Advanced mode toggle switch in the Settings.

All the functionality of the previous release is now available by switching to Advanced Mode but to provide a gentler introduction for new users, the App defaults to Basic mode.

          Basic Mode consists of:
          A simplified Inventory screen display
The functionality of the Read/Write screen is hidden to prevent accidental modification of tags.

This release also adds support for the 2128P and 2128L readers.

The TSL Firmware Loader v 1.0.0 App will ensure that your TSL IH21 Reader firmware is fully up-to-date.

The App has IH21 Updater v1.0.6 built-in, which contains:

                          Firmware update: v1.3.5

                          Bluetooth firmware update: v1.0.6

The built-in update package allows you to update Readers even when an internet connection is unavailable.

TSL Firmware Loader requires IH21 reader firmware 1.2.1 or greater. When upgrading from firmware versions below 1.2.1 we recommend that firmware is installed using the TSL PC Firmware Downloader v1.20.

Note: with additional equipment, it is also possible to use TSL Firmware Loader to install the 1.2.1 firmware - see the Application Note - TSL Firmware Loader  for details of the procedure and equipment required.

This release provides support for using the built-in barcode scanner for Honeywell Android handheld devices such as the D75e, CT40, CT50, CT60 & EDA51. This feature uses the "Honeywell Android Data Collection Intent API" so may require an update to the Common_ES package on the device.

Tags with an existing EPC over 256 bits long can now be encoded.

            Icon

The v1.2 release of the TSL cross-platform, Xamarin SDK (for PCL-based projects) is now available. This release uses the Tsl.AsciiProtocol PCL library v1.3.6 (available via NuGet) which contains many new features including:

            • Full support for ASCII Protocol 2.5 - including the new FindTagCommand to simplify the implementation of tag finding.
            • USB support for UWP-based projects
            • A new connection mechanism (AsciiTransportsManager) while retaining ReaderConnectionManager to maintain full backwards compatibility with existing projects.
            • Sequencing of synchronously executed ExecuteCommand() calls to eliminate cross thread "Command is already executing" exceptions
            • New Bluetooth pairing support via the BluetoothSecurity class
            • HostBarcodeHandler a helper class to initiate a barcode scan on the terminal from reader trigger for supported terminals

The Sample Projects, in this release, have all been updated to demonstrate USB support for UWP Apps and fix minor bugs. The new, cross-platform, .NET Standard SDK will be released shortly and we recommend that it is used for all new projects.

            1.4.1
            September 23, 2020
            Icon

TSL ASCII 2.0 SDK v1.4.1 for iOS adds support for the 2128 UHF RFID Reader and provides a popLoqMode parameter on the FactoryDefaultsCommand to allow changes to the mode of the ePop-Loq® connector on compatible devices.

            Bug fixes:

All Sample projects have been updated to address a connection issue when switching Apps using the iOS task-switcher. This change moves the disconnection of the current Reader into the will ResignActive: method. We strongly recommend developers implement this approach to ensure multiple Apps can work effectively while sharing a single Reader.

See the included "Framework Version History.txt" file for additional release details.
