TSL® have updated their native Android SDK to version 2.5.0 to meet the Google Play Android 12 (API level 31) requirement that comes into effect on November 1, 2022.
If your app is targeting API level 31+ then
- you will need to update your app to use the Rfid.AsciiProtocol library (v3.0.0), included in the latest SDK.
- You will also need to update your app to issue a request for Bluetooth® permissions, where appropriate.
The latest SDK contains updated Sample Projects to demonstrate one way to do this – all built against the latest API Level 33.
In addition, three Sample Projects (Inventory, ReadWrite and ConfigureBarcode) have been re-written to demonstrate the use of the SDK in the latest Android Studio, Basic Activity app template.
This release also addresses a null pointer error that occurred when running previous Rfid.AsciiProtocol libraries (v2.5.0 or lower) on Android 12+ devices.
